Fund Raising and Friend Raising
The Fund Raising Congress gathers people and organizations from all sectors to share the latest information, studies and trends in fund raising. Launched in 2004, the biennial Congress was first held in March 2004 and coincided with the First Kyra Awards. The Second Fund Raising Congress, Building Stronger Bridges, and second Kyra Awards was held in August 2006. In September 2008 and 2012, the 3rd and 4th Fund Raising Congress was conducted at the Gateway Suites (then Mandarin Oriental Suites) in Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City, same with the 3rd and 4th Kyra Awards.
The Convention, The Exhibit, and The Kyra Awards
- The Convention is the venue to present best practices in resource mobilization, bring together fund raisers as peers, and encourage discussion and sharing of information on the ever evolving strategies and practices in the fund raising field. Topics for the learning sessions for this year include the different fund raising strategies and fund sources such as grants, direct mail, major gifts, small contributions, overseas fund raising, internet fund raising, special events, corporate partnerships and viral marketing.
- The Exhibit features products and services that will make fund raising campaigns easier to implement. It is a good networking venue for both service providers and NGOs.
- The Kyra Awards is the pioneer in celebrating the best practices in fund raising efforts conducted by Philippine NGOs. The awards include Best Direct Mail Campaign, Best Special Event, Best Corporate-NGO Partnership, and the Award for Excellence in Fund Raising.
