Job Description

Position Title:  General Manager
Reports to:   Board of Trustees President

POSITION SUMMARY

Manages and oversees the operation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Philippines.  The General Manager is accountable to and works closely with the Board of Trustees to forward the mission of the Foundation and ensure viability of the organization.

In addition, the General Manager creates, implements and sustains a comprehensive fundraising program for the Foundation.  The General Manager works collaboratively with the Board, committees, staff and volunteers to develop and implement fundraising strategies throughout the Chapter territory.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent the chapter as its General Manager in all dealings with other organizations, individuals and the general public.
• Design and implement a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan to ensure a continuing stable financial base for Chapter operations. 
• Ensure Chapter complies with fundraising industry standards as well as performance standards established by MAWFI.
• Work closely with the Board’s Fundraising Committee to strengthen and expand donor base, provide fundraising training as needed, and help identify and attract Board members who can support fundraising goals.
• Identify, cultivate and solicit cash and in-kind contributions from individuals, foundations, clubs/civic organizations, schools and corporations.
? Build and sustain chapter relationships with donors, including donor recognition programs, communications, cultivation and stewardship, and creating opportunities to connect donors to the Chapter’s mission and activities.
? Oversee donor information systems to ensure timely and accurate acknowledgement and recording of gifts, reporting and analysis of fundraising initiatives.
• Oversees all programs, services, activities and facilities to ensure that all program objectives are met in a timely fashion.
• Prepare chapter budget annually and with appropriate staff and board committees; submit to board for approval.
• Monitor receipts and expenditures and cash flow; report to board or finance committee regularly.  Resolve any concerns or problems in conjunction with the finance committee.
• Decide matters of administrative and supervisory detail relative to chapter operation and maintenance, in accordance with policies and all applicable laws.
• Supervise the implementation of all Board and Make-A-Wish Foundation® International (MAWFI) policies.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and release staff in accord with chapter policies and local law.
• Apply, in a timely fashion, for grants and funds budgeted for from outside sources.
• Ensure that the chapter has a visible and positive public image through media contact, speaking engagements, and presence at appropriate public functions.
• Remain current on non-profit issues and trends.


JOB/POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Arts/Science in a Social Science, Business or Non-Profit Management Program or comparable experience required..
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a compatible position preferably with experience in non-profit fundraising organization.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with a MNC in fundraising, marketing or sales concentration.
• Demonstrated track record in fundraising including grant-writing, individual and major gift solicitations, corporate fundraising, planned giving, special event planning and volunteer management. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills in Filipino and English.
• Strong project management and time management skills, with proven ability to work within tight time lines and limited budgets,
• Ability to work comfortably with people of diverse interests and backgrounds, with volunteers and community leaders, and with major donors.
• Energetic and creative attitude with a strong customer-service orientation, enthusiasm for the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and willingness to fully contribute to a team-oriented, fast-paced organization.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications and donor management software. 
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends, and to travel within Chapter territory.
