Venture for Fund Raising proudly presents the Kyra Awards, the first awards given among non-profits in the Philippines to honor best practices in fund raising campaigns. The multi-category Kyra Awards was established to acknowledge the successes of creative resource development, and to celebrate partnerships between the profit and non-profit sectors. The Third Kyra Awards unfurls this year with the Third Fund Raising Congress, which will be held on September 3 to 4, 2008 at the Mandarin Oriental Suites at the 4th Level of Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City.

This award recognizes the organization that has effectively and creatively tapped diversified funding sources including but not limited to direct mail, special events, annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, planned giving programs and overall advancement programs that have exhibited sustained improvement in fund raising returns.
Criteria:
Evidence of creativity and innovation - 40 points
Increased donor base – 20 points
Increased funds raised – 20 points
Evidence of improved fund raising return on investment – 20 points

- Cancer Warriors Foundation: “Helping Kids Fight Cancer!” (utilized fund raising strategies are diaspora philanthropy, annual giving, special event, NPO-corporate partnership, capital campaign)
- Philam Foundation, Inc.: Annual Fund, (utilized fund raising strategies are employee giving through the Centralized Assistance for Employees in Need or Philam CAN and cause-related marketing strategy, endowment building and corporate matching through their “60 Against Poverty” campaign)
- SOS Children’s Villages Philippines: “Hope in Motion 1 & 2” (utilized fund raising strategies are regular special events and annual giving)
- World Vision Development Foundation, Inc.: “Fund Raising Best Practices 2007” (utilized fund raising strategies are mall campaign, direct mail, face-to-face acquisition, mobilization of Philippine churches, celebrity engagement, long term corporate donor engagement and donor transformation)

“PhilPost” Best Direct Mail Campaign Award
This award recognizes a project or program that raised funds to support the ongoing work of the organization from new or existing donors, or was seeking to renew or increase the level of giving from existing donors, or that raised funds toward a particular appeal - all through printed pieces sent out in the mail. These may include brochures, cover letters, response devices, return envelopes, other enclosures.
Criteria:
Creativity in content and presentation – 40 points
Meeting of fund raising objectives and targets – 30 points
Fund raising effectiveness and return on investment – 30 points

The Best Special Event Award
This award recognizes the raising of funds through an event. The event may be in the form of a ball, a concert, auction, fair, breakfast, luncheon, dinner, marathon, bike-a-thon, walk-a-thon, fashion show, book sale, and the like. This may be an annual or one-off event.
Criteria:
Creativity in event panning and execution – 40 points
Meeting of fund raising objectives and targets – 30 points
Fund raising effectiveness and return on investment – 30 points

“Shell” Best NPO-Corporate Partnership Campaign Award
This award honors the non-profit that has partnered with a corporation to generate funds, not though requests of philanthropy and gifts but thorough a marketing campaign beneficial to both. The campaign should reflect the association of the non-profit with a commercial product, brand or service and is proven to have benefited both the funds of the non-profit and the sales of the for-profit company’s product or service.
Criteria:
Innovation in tie-up between non-profit and for profit – 40 points
Increased donor base – 30 points
Increased funds raised – 30 points
