DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN FUND RAISING MANAGEMENT

The Diploma Program in Fund Raising Management offers intensive professional training for people involved in resource generation for their organizations' good work. It is designed to equip the participants with a spectrum of theoretical foundations and practical skills needed in various aspects of fund raising - for them to generate resources for financial sustainability with confidence and mobilize private action for the public good with ease. The diploma program consists of seven (7) course modules. Each course module will run for five (5) weeks.

Course module description:

Module 1: Principles and Best Practices in Fund Raising (May 3 - June 2, 2011)

This course will examine the principles, theories, and factors that have an indirect and direct influence to fund raising success. It will also highlight the trends in fund raising by looking at the fund raising cases done in the Philippines and in other countries. Most importantly, this course will tackle legal and ethical frameworks for fund raising

Module 2: Fund Raising Strategies (June 14 - July 14, 2011)

This course will provide in depth knowledge on the different forms and types of fund raising as well as the fund raising techniques, models, tools, resources and their application. The participants will be able to identify and select the most appropriate fund raising strategies vis-a-vis their organizational profile, financial capacity, program reach and targets, and financial goals.

Module 3: Communication Strategies in Fund Raising (July 26 - August 25, 2011)

This course will develop and strengthen participants' competency and skill in strategic communication. It will intensely cover communication principles, case statements development, marketing, public relations and fund raising. This course will help participants develop strategic communication plan for a successful fund raising campaign.

Module 4: ICT in Fund Raising (September 6 - October 6, 2011)

This course will lay down key principles and factors in developing, managing and working effectively with information technology, e-commerce, database marketing and database personnel significant to a successful fund raising. Also, this course will provide substantial inputs on software programs and their functionalities - its availability, practicality, feasibility, and management and operational issues as it applies to fund raising.

Module 5: Donor Development in Fund Raising (October 18 - November 22, 2011)

Fund raising is not a one-size-fits-all strategy. To maximize the potential of a fund raising strategy, a careful and thorough study of existing and prospective donors is very significant, thus this module primarily will set the tone and platform in donor acquisition, donor renewal, donor loyalty and enhancement, donor recognition programs and methodology.

Module 6: Fund Raising Development and Planning (December 6 2011 - January 5, 2012)

Developing a fund raising campaign is one major task - and planning is indispensible. This course will provide inputs on major decision points and factors in drawing the fund raising blueprint, the processes involved and the technicalities to be considered to come up with a blueprint that is workable and operational.

Module 7: Applied Fund Raising (January 17 - February 16, 2012)

This course will thread all the learning of the participants and gauge their level of readiness and capacity in developing and implementing a fund raising campaign. Taking into consideration all the principles, techniques, and practical and theoretical foundations of fund raising, the participants are expected to come up with a fund raising blueprint and implement it within a specified period of time, technical inputs and practical guidance will be provided in all process points.
