We are an intermediary organization—defined as one that supports the provision of services by other organizations, rather than delivering direct services itself. As a technical assistance and capacity-building organization, we work to strengthen the nonprofit and social impact sectors by empowering others to succeed.

We help nonprofits, civil society groups, and social purpose organizations gain the tools, skills, and knowledge they need to effectively raise funds and sustain their missions. At the same time, we support individuals, donors, corporations and philanthropic institutions in allocating their resources for greater good and shared impact.

Our Mission in Action

In addition to training and mentoring, Venture conducts sectoral research and public education. We led the groundbreaking Nationwide Survey on Giving in the Philippines and continue to produce fund raising market studies and donor research to inform strategy and practice.

We are also the convenor of the Fund Raising Congress, a biennial event that began in 2004, serving as a space for shared learning and innovation. The Congress is home to The Kyra Awards, the first awards program in the Philippines recognizing excellence in nonprofit fund raising campaigns.

Pinky N. Medina

Executive Director

Pinky N. Medina is the Executive Director of Venture for Fund Raising. She is responsible for the overall management and quality assurance of Venture’s fund raising and corporate social responsibility consulting, training and research programs, and provides consulting expertise on organizational development, and program design, planning and implementation. Her more than 14 years experience in managing Venture’s partners from various sectors has provided a wealth of learning and understanding of the organizational and sustainability issues and challenges faced by each sector, and developing the appropriate solutions to these. Pinky started her fund raising journey as the External Affairs Officer of Miriam College, where, for over 12 years, she managed the school’s fund raising, alumni affairs and communications functions, and served as the project coordinator for the Miriam College Endowment Fund Campaign. Her specialization is in school-based Endowment and Capital Campaigns.

Marie Kiel S. Fernandez

Deputy Executive Director

Responsible for overseeing the seamless delivery of Venture’s programs and services to our partners. Kiel has extensive experience in working with both the ‘givers’ and ‘askers.’ She has worked with corporate foundations for their different grant-giving and community development initiatives. While on the asker side, she has worked on communications, fund raising, and advocacy-marketing work for NGOs and religious organizations, such as the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation and Caritas Manila, among others. She has led fund raising campaigns championing the causes of education, street children, healthcare, youth leadership, disaster response and management, and restorative justice, among others. She has trained and mentored nonprofits and other social purpose organizations on fund raising, grant proposal development and administration, impact reporting, organizational governance, and program management.

Ira Felicia T. Hachero

Program Manager

Works closely with the Program team in the development and delivery of Venture’s consulting, training, and research programs. A graduate of B.A. Social Sciences Major in Area Studies from UP Manila, her exposure to and participation in community outreach activities in various university and community-based organizations, as well as her internship experiences at Nayong Pilipino Foundation – Research Institute and Knowles Training Institute, has honed her resolve to help improve the lives of people and create better communities. This has inspired her to contribute to Venture's work in building the capacity of organizations to ensure their sustainability so they can achieve their missions.

Korina E. Aguila

Program Associate

As a Program Associate, Korina works closely with the Program team to ensure the successful implementation and growth of Venture’s training, education, mentoring, and research initiatives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology, majoring in Human and Family Development, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Before joining Venture, Korina gained significant experience in addressing community development issues through research, outreach programs, and government service. These experiences have fostered her deep appreciation and understanding of how institutions can empower communities, and her dedication to advancing this work through Venture’s programs and services.

April R. Mamaril

Administration Fellow

Likewise, with close to 10 years of service to Venture in both Program and Administrative positions, April shares her experience and provides critical inputs to the team on administration-related activities. As Venture’s HR/Administrative Manager from 2020-2023, she managed the organization’s transition to its remote work set-up and established Venture’s digital processes and systems, specifically in the areas of compliance with government requirements, and financial and human resource management processes.

Jasen T. Ko

PRESIDENT

Mr. Ko is the current Chairperson of Venture for Fund Raising, and the Chief Executive Officer/ shareholder of several companies in in-store media, design, printing, production, fabrication, organic personal care, and real estate. He is also on the board of Endeavor Philippines and is currently the Vice-Chairman. He has finished the Entrepreneurial Masters Program (EMP) in Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2006-2008 and is currently finishing the Owner/President Management (OPM) program at Harvard University. Jasen is also a member of YPO and Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and has served on their boards in various capacities.

Marvee C. Bonoan

CORPORATE SECRETARY

Ms. Bonoan is one of the founders of Venture for Fund Raising. Formerly, she served as the concurrent Executive Director of the Asian Institute of Management Scientific Research Foundation, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Vice President of Brand Management for the Asian Institute of Management. Trained at Indiana University's Fund Raising School, Marvee's areas of expertise are board development, capital campaigns, endowment campaigns, planned giving, and corporate and foundation grants. She has also served as a board member of the Philippine Council of NGO Certification.

Jaime M. Faustino

FOUNDING BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Faustino was Founding Chairperson of Venture for Fund Raising. Jaime has worked as a development manager for both for-profit and non-profit development organizations. In the mid-90s, Jaime was the first Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium where he gained valuable experience in charitable giving and fund raising in Asia. Currently, Jaime manages an economic policy reform program for The Asia Foundation.

Nigel Trinidad Avila

TREASURER

Atty. Avila is the Treasurer of Venture for Fund Raising. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a lawyer by profession specializing in taxation and corporate law with clients in the manufacturing, oil, construction and service industry. He was previously connected with Shell Philippines, Chevron (Philippines), Inc., Ernst and Young (Manila) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue. He has several decades of experience in his specialized field.
