We’re excited to share that we recently joined the Financial Stewardship for NGOs training hosted by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and PICPA Foundation.

Held last July 2-4, 2025, at the Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City, the training brought together a diverse group of leaders and finance practitioners from both PCNC-accredited and non-accredited nonprofit organizations. The three-day event served as a platform for strengthening financial stewardship in the sector, with sessions led by experts in nonprofit finance and governance.

We were invited to share insights on two critical and timely topics:

  • Diversifying Revenue Streams

Presented by our Executive Director, Ms. Pinky Medina, this session explored the multiple revenue options available to nonprofit organizations. She discussed strategies for tapping into these streams, including individual giving, grants, and earned income, while debunking common myths and misconceptions about fund raising.

  • Emerging Trends in Nonprofit Finance

Our Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel Fernandez, co-led this session with Myriad USA, a global nonprofit that supports cross-border giving. Together, they explored key shifts in the global nonprofit finance landscape, including the growing emphasis on local resource mobilization, evolving donor expectations, and the role of technology and data in driving strategic giving.

Following the presentations, participants engaged in a panel discussion, providing space for real-time insights, practical questions, and shared experiences from the field, making it one of the highlights of the training.

The training proved to be a meaningful space for knowledge-sharing with fellow nonprofit leaders, all working toward building more sustainable, mission-driven organizations. We are grateful to PCNC for the opportunity to both learn and contribute to this important conversation.
