Venture Speaks: Think, Talk, Take with the Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA)

We were recently honored to be invited as a plenary speaker at the Communication for Asia’s workshop, “Think, Talk, Take: A Toolkit for Social Change through Transformative Communication”.


Held on July 24-25, 2025, at Shercon Hotel, Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas, the event brought together development workers, communicators, and advocates – mainly from the fields of development, church, and education – to explore how communication can be a powerful tool for advancing social change.



Representing Venture was our Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel S. Fernandez, who delivered the plenary talk, “From Vision to Viability: Crafting Sustainable Futures through Strategic Resource Mobilization.” In her session, Ms. Kiel emphasized that fund raising is both an art and a science, one that can be learned and honed. She walked participants through the fundamentals of fund raising, covering the full process, while highlighting how communication is at the heart of mobilizing resources.

Drawing from her own experiences as a fund raiser, Ms. Fernandez shared practical tips, best practices, and clear and actionable approaches to developing a communication plan focused on fund raising goals. Her talk provided a valuable starting point for organizations seeking to strengthen their approach to sustainability and resource mobilization.


The session sparked active engagement from participants, both onsite and online, who shared their insights, asked thoughtful questions, and reflected on their own challenges and opportunities in communicating their mission to supporters.


We thank the Communication Foundation for Asia for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful gathering and to stand alongside organizations committed to positive change.


As Gerry Roxas Foundation Executive Director, Mr. Glen de Castro, aptly said in his opening remarks, “Communication is love in action.” And for those of us in development work, it is also the lifeblood of sustainability and solidarity – connecting people, resources, and purpose.
