Last November 18, 2025, Venture for Fund Raising was invited by the Area-Based Standards Network (ABSNet) West Cluster - Manila City NCR under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to share fund raising insights during their 2nd General Assembly held at the University of the Philippines Manila.

The DSWD–ABSNet West Cluster is composed of non-government organizations/Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) in Manila City, National Capital Region organized by the Department to extend social support to vulnerable and marginalized communities. The cluster aims to strengthen the capacity of its member organizations to sustain their social programs and services through resource mobilization. In line with this, their 2nd General Assembly included a dedicated fund raising learning session for their 120 member organizations, aligned with its theme: “Strengthening Partnerships for Inclusive Social Services: LGU and NGOs Together for a Better Manila.”

Representing Venture, Ms. Kiel Fernandez, Deputy Executive Director, shared essential insights on fund raising by addressing common myths and offering actionable tips. Drawing from her own two-decade experience as a fund raiser for different types of organizations working on diverse causes, she guided participants through the fund raising process, highlighting real-world examples and best practices from various organizations that could be adapted to their own initiatives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the DSWD–ABSNet West Cluster for the opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of their member organizations. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and supporting more groups as they strengthen and sustain their programs.
