Venture was honored to join as one of the resource speakers for the “Capacity-Building Workshop on Strategic Writing Campaign for Social Welfare Programs” organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Partnerships Building and Resource Mobilization Office (DSWD-PBRMO). This initiative is part of the Office’s ongoing commitment to strengthening collaborations with key stakeholders, particularly with various Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs).

The Department of Social Welfare and Development - Partnerships Building and Resource Mobilization Office (DSWD-PBRMO) is a specialized office within the agency that aims to strengthen collaborations, expand resources, and manage partnerships with various SWDAs, non-government organizations, and other stakeholders to support vulnerable communities.

In collaboration with other units like the DSWD Standards Bureau, one of the PBRMO’s flagship initiatives is the DSWD Kaagapay Donations Portal. As the agency’s official online platform, it allows donors to contribute directly to disaster relief, DSWD-managed Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCF), and accredited SWDAs. The portal serves as a dedicated space for giving, built on the pillars of transparency, accountability, and accessibility.

The “Capacity-Building Workshop on Strategic Writing Campaign for Social Welfare Programs” was designed to help participants identify fund raising challenges, apply ethical storytelling to campaign narratives, and leverage the Kaagapay Donations Portal to mobilize resources for their own social welfare programs.

Held on March 13, 2026, at the Ecoprime Building in BGC, Taguig City, the event allowed Venture to engage with a diverse group of organizations. Specifically, we focused on two vital sessions:

  • Introduction to Fund Raising and Fund Raising Communications

Our Executive Director, Ms. Pinky Medina, spearheaded this foundational module, which was designed to establish a unified understanding of the core principles of fund raising. The session went beyond the basics, diving into the vital synergy between fund raising and strategic communications. She also  guided participants in developing tailored communication plans. This ensures that their fund raising initiatives are not only well-coordinated but also strategically targeted toward the right audiences.

  • Designing your Digital Fund Raising Communication Strategy

The next session shifted toward a more practical application of fund raising communications. Our Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel Fernandez, shared practical tips on digital fund raising and presented various strategies tailored for the digital landscape. Ms. Fernandez also placed a strong emphasis on the ethical aspects of fund raising communications. This ensured that while participants learned to reach wider audiences online, they remained grounded in the core values of dignity and respect for the communities they serve.

To conclude the session, Ms. Carina Gardiola (Planning Officer III, DSWD-PBRMO) facilitated a discussion on the DSWD Kaagapay Donations Portal. This provided a valuable opportunity for participants to explore the platform’s features and opened a forum for them to share their insights and suggestions for future enhancements to the platform.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Atty. Ana Maria Paz B. Rafael, Assistant Secretary of the DSWD, and her dedicated team in PBRMO for the opportunity to collaborate on this initiative. We share their commitment to empowering SWDAs, recognizing that as force multipliers of the DSWD, their capacity must be strengthened to maximize their reach and help more vulnerable communities. By equipping these organizations with the tools to communicate their programs more effectively, we are working together to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of social welfare services across the country.
