Organized by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) in partnership with The Philippine Institute of Certified Accountants (PICPA) and the PICPA Foundation, this impactful 3-day workshop brought together Public Accountants who want to help nonprofit organizations build a solid financial foundation, alongside passionate leaders from education, microfinance, environmental conservation, and other vital sectors across the region.
Following a successful first leg for NCR participants last March, this run provided a dynamic space for Mindanao-based organizations to collaborate, share knowledge, and sharpen their skills in financial management, transparency, and long-term sustainability.
Representing Venture, our Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel Fernandez, took the stage on the final day of the program to lead two highly insightful and practical fund raising sessions:
Ms. Fernandez kicked off by debunking common fund raising myths and misconceptions that often hold organizations back. She shared actionable, real-world strategies for Philippine nonprofits to break away from a single-source income model, demonstrating how to build long-term financial resilience by cultivating a healthy mix of grants, gifts, and earned income.

For this session, Venture teamed up with Myriad USA to unpack the global shifts reshaping the social sector. The discussion explored how organizations can embrace data-driven decision-making to guide their resource mobilization while navigating the evolving expectations of modern donors. A significant highlight of the conversation centered on the transformative role of data and technology—specifically, practical fund raising communication trends and the ethical use of AI that nonprofits can immediately apply to scale their efficiency and impact.

One of the most dynamic segments of the workshop was the interactive panel discussion and Q&A session. Participants engaged in a lively exchange, bringing fresh perspectives and "on-the-ground" examples to the table. The conversation focused heavily on practical strategies for Philippine CSOs to diversify their income streams and effectively navigate the nuances of reaching out to international donors—giving everyone actionable insights tailored to the local context.

We extend our deepest gratitude to PCNC, PICPA, and the PICPA Foundation for their continued trust and for spearheading these vital capacity-building initiatives.
Following the incredible success and high engagement of our Manila and Davao runs, the momentum is only growing as we prepare to take this advocacy next to the Visayas region. We invite you to join us for our run in Cebu this coming July 15–17, 2026, where we will continue to collaborate, build long-term financial resilience, and advance stewardship across the Philippine nonprofit sector.
Let’s champion transparency and sustainability together—see you in Cebu!
