In May 2026, Venture delivered a Fund Raising Capacity Building and Planning Workshop for The Heart at Play Foundation (THP) at the Kidlat Dance Studio in San Juan City. The intervention focused on exploring various resource mobilization approaches and assisting THP in designing a sustainable fund raising plan to help them expand their programs and scale their long-term community impact.

The Heart at Play Foundation (THP) is an SEC-registered nonprofit organization in the Philippines that champions empowerment and inclusion for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) from underprivileged families. THP, founded by Mrs. Ana Rivera, is now helmed by her daughters Ms. Therese and Ms. Patricia who own and operate Kidlat Dance Studio in Greenhills, San Juan City. Kidlat Dance Studio is the pioneer and sole provider of Dance BEST Movement Therapy, which provides a progressive alternative intervention program for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Through cultural arts, free therapy, and community engagement, THP and The Rivera Sisters are actively building a more inclusive and empowered society.

The discussions were led by Venture’s Executive Director, Ms. Pinky N. Medina, and Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel S. Fernandez, who tailored the sessions specifically around THP’s unique priorities and organizational needs. All workshop materials and activities were strategically developed based on the insights gained from a comprehensive fund raising readiness assessment conducted with THP’s leadership team. This customized approach ensured the module was both contextually relevant and immediately actionable. Ultimately, the workshop successfully guided THP in crafting a medium-term fund raising plan, establishing a clear roadmap to achieve their goal of expanding their reach to more families.

We extend our sincere appreciation to The Heart at Play Foundation for their exceptional participation and collaboration throughout this intervention. The organization’s engagement and commitment to strengthening its organizational capacities will directly support its mission of uplifting their beneficiaries. Venture looks forward to seeing THP execute its strategic plans to champion inclusivity for the PWD community and their families.
