Venture for Fund Raising was thrilled to head to Cebu last July 15 for the third run of this year’s Financial Stewardship for NGOs training!
Organized by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Certified Accountants (PICPA) and the PICPA Foundation, this impactful 3-day workshop brought together passionate nonprofit leaders and finance officers from education, health, environmental conservation, and other vital sectors across the region.
Following a successful second leg for Mindanao-based participants last June, this run provided a dynamic space for over forty organizations to collaborate, share knowledge, and sharpen their skills in financial integrity, transparency, long-term sustainability, and growth aligned with their organizations' missions.
Representing Venture, our Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel Fernandez, took the stage on the second day of the program to lead a highly insightful and practical fund raising session on "Diversifying Revenue Streams."
In this session, Ms. Fernandez debunked common fund raising myths and misconceptions that often hold organizations back. Culling from lessons learned from working with various NGOs operating in different sectors over the past 27 years, she shared actionable, real-world strategies for Philippine nonprofits to break away from a single-source income model, demonstrating how to build long-term financial resilience by cultivating a healthy mix of grants, gifts, and earned income.
